Occasionally our best efforts as educators are not enough. Each child we care for has their own unique circumstances, there is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to addressing individual needs.
Based on the work of Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish (authors of the 1980 book ‘How to talk so kids will listen & Listen so kids will talk), the problem solving strategy is an effective tool for parents and educators to negotiate the best outcomes for a tricky situation.
Children under 5 CAN and DO have relevant ideas… we just need to allow them the opportunity to share them. This 2-hour course demonstrates the step-by-step methods used to problem solve with young children.
