About this training
This course will assist Early Years Educators, Organisations and Individuals to understand children's behaviour and apply consistent responses to aggressive, difficult or unsociable behaviour. This includes dealing with tantrums and meltdowns.
It is designed to give Educators an understanding of factors which impact on children's behaviour and simple strategies which support effective communication and response strategies to reduce the number of challenging behaviour situations within the services program. The course will introduce information and response strategies which can be used by Educators to develop management plans and processes within the early years setting.
Learning Outcomes of this course include:
- Learners will be able to discuss and identify guiding children's behaviour in the Early Years setting;
- Learners will be able to discuss the impact that parents, families and other Educators have on children's behaviour;
- Learners will be able to evaluate the impact that food, hydration and sleep has on children's behaviour;
- Learners will be able to understand strategies to effectively implement boundaries for children's behaviour;
- Learners will be able to identify tantrums and meltdowns;
- Learners will be able to implement standardised workplace incident reporting and communication;
- Learners will be able to design and introduce affective chill out areas.

Learning Assessment: Multiple choice questions through the course. No further study or assessment.
